Every participant, both competition and leisure skater, who
finishes the tour according to the regulations, receives the silver 'Elfstedentocht'
cross.
For the competitors, there are, apart from the prizes for the winner, twelve medals to be
won: 
- one large gold medal,
- one small gold medal,
- two large gold-plated silver medals,
- one small gold-plated silver medal,
- one large silver medal,
- one small silver medal,
- two large bronze medals and
- three small bronze medals.
The first arriving lady-skater receives, apart from the winner's prize, three medals:
- one large gold medal,
- one small gold medal and
- one large gold-plated silver medal.
All medals for the winners of the next-to-be-held 'Elfstedentocht' are exhibited at the museum 'De Fryske Winter', located in the 'Fries Scheepvaartmuseum' in Sneek. The prizes are handed out in the late afternoon of the day of the race.
