Onderwerp: gelukkig Nieuw jaar

Subject: Searching for Sybren Sypersma family
My father's mother is Harmke Sypersma, born in Easterwierum on March 16, 1913.
She married Lieuwe Visser on August 29, 1934 in Oosterbierum.
Her parents are Sybren Sypersma (born in Wirdum) and Rinske van der Veen.
Rinske is Sybren's second wife; the first one was Attje Visser.
Sybren's parents are Sybren Sypersma and Jannigje Boersma. When Jannigje died,
he remarried to Rinskjen C(K)nossen.
My grandmother has two full brothers, Lieuwe Sypersma and Jarrig Sypersma.
She also has one half-sister, Jannigje Sypersma (who married Ytsen Hoekstra),
and one half-brother, Sybren Sypersma. I am looking for their birthdates,
marriage dates & spouses, children, and (if applicable) death dates.
Any information, either past or present, regarding this Sypersma family,
would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
My name is Robert. I have a question.
My father's parents immigrated to the USA in the early 1900's.
My mother's parent's also immigrated from the Netherlands (but not from Friesland).
My parents tell the story that my mother's parents attempted to stop them from
courting due to the fear that my father's family was from Friesland.
The supposed reputation was that Friesland people were known to be rough and stubborn.
My question: While this could be true of anyone, could this be a legitimate
characterization?
I personally love to hear stories of my grandparents and of Friesland.
Also if anyone has any web sites they could send me about Friesland (in English)
that would be great!

Onderwerp: Guestbook - VANDERWAL family name
In 1811 Folkert Romkes, born 1755, deceased 29/10/1824 in Rijperkerk Friesland,
was one of the 184 heads of households who registered in Friesland the
familyname van der Wal (American: Vanderwal). I am searching for the relatives
of the descendants mentioned below:
1.
Bendert van der Wal, born 30/10/1887 in Dongjum, deceased May 1968 in
Trenton, NJ, USA and his brother Abe van der Wal, born 05/-6/1906 in Dongjum,
deceased 19/01/1997 in Andover, NJ, USA, migrated in 1930 to New Jersey. Both
were young farmers. Bendert never married. Abe married with Nancy ....?....and
had at least two sons, Roy and Benny.
2.
In 1912 Folkert van der Wal, 20 years old, born 27/11/1891 in Oudkerk
(Aldstjerk) Tietjerksteradeel, migrated to the USA. He was single and was a
passenger on the " Rotterdam" and is mentioned on the Ellis Island records.
3.
In 1913 Zweitse van der Wal, 27 years old and Klaske van der Wal - Nauta 25
years old, born in Berlikum, migrated to the USA. They were passengers on the
"Potsdam". They had two children at the moment of arrival, Yke (1 year old) and
Anna (0 year old). They all arrived on Ellis Island. They went to Orange City,
Iowa. During WW II they moved to Baltimore. Soon they were called Sam and Clara
Vanderwal. After WW II they moved to Long Beach, CA. Besides Yke and Anna they
got 11 children. I have contact with some of the descendants but I am still
searching for contact with relatives of Yke, Anna, Rena, Tracy, William, Peter,
Jeanne and Gordon Vanderwal.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can inform me where relatives of the
above mentioned people are living to-day.

Dear Guestbook
My name is Julie Treen.
From December 10 to 17 2006 I visited Lanzarote for a vacation. There I met
a wonderful Freisian man named Chris who totally changed my outlook on life.
I would so much like to make contact with him again if only to say hello.
If you could put this message on your website hopefully someone will
recognise the Chris who holidayed in Lanzarote from the above dates last
year. Incidently he said he worked for an organisation called Echo.
My email address is julietreen@hotmail.co.uk.

Subject: The Canada Netherlands Friendship Day May 5th, 2007 - Vendors and Institutions are welcome
Dear All,
In a few more months we hope to celebrate the May 5th
Canada Netherlands Friendship Day in Burlington.
The event begins with the flag raising at Burlington City Hall at 3 pm.
Celebrations will continue at the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Doors will be open at 5 pm. Welcome and introductions begin at 6:30
in the auditorium. The Burlington Concert Band is in the line up.
Organizations and vendors are welcome to sign up at the RBG.
Mr. Hans Kloet is in charge of the floor plan. The earlier you reserve
a spot the better it is. Only approved participants will be allowed to
promote / showcase their business or institution at the RBG.
The warm bond between Canada and The Netherlands is a special one.
Since the liberation of the Netherlands by the proud Canadian Armed Forces
and the allies, the friendship has continued to flourish. Trade and Commerce
is one to celebrate. There are many more reasons.
On May 4 is the Dutch Remembrance Day. On May 5, it is the Dutch Liberation Day.
Burlington, Ontario, is the only city in Canada where we remember and celebrate
that very special day by way of an official proclamation.
Please let me know if you are interested in joining us again. Your participation
makes it even more special.
Thank You Canada Always - We Will Remember Them.
Friendship wishes,
Jack van der Laan
