You just made your entrance in Friesland. Don't know what Friesland is or where
it's located?
Friesland is a province(region) located in the northern part of the Netherlands, with
approximately 600,000 inhabitants. The capital of Friesland is Leeuwarden. Our main
objective with this english version of the DRF is to select information on Friesland with
from an international point of view. This makes, that the english version differs quite a
lot from the dutch and frisian version,
with regards to both contents and appearance. If you are interrested in more locally
oriented events, you might prefer our dutch or frisian version. We assume that there are
still a lot of ex Frisians, who, although it might take some effort, still speak or
